Logo
In the background of the logo is the map of Cyprus. On the left, Pope Francis looks at St Barnabas, patron saint of the island. On the right, an olive branch tied to a spike of grain, signs of peace and communion. Above and below, in Greek and English, the motto of the Apostolic Journey; below, the text regarding the Holy Father's visit to Cyprus and the date of the Journey.
The logo features the orange and green colors of the Cypriot flag alongside the white and yellow of the Vatican flag.
Motto
“Comforting each other in faith”
Inspired by the name of the Apostle Barnabas, which can mean son of exhortation or consolation (cf. Acts 4:36), it suggests the importance of comforting and encouraging each other, essential dimensions of dialogue, encounter and welcome and salient features of the life and history of the Island.
